Denver Animal Shelter Pet Food Pantry

We understand that times can be tough, and no one should have to choose between feeding themselves or their beloved pet. If you're experiencing financial hardship, we're here to help.

If you or someone you know is in need of pet food, contact the Denver Animal Shelter at dap.outreach@denvergov.org.

Walk-ins are welcome at Denver Animals Shelter (1241 W. Bayuad Ave.), but wait times may vary. Appointments are recommended so we can set aside the food your pet needs. Inventory is not guaranteed without an appointment.

Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11 a.m.- 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Get the latest information on SNAP through Denver Human Services

You can continue to apply for and review SNAP benefits in November at the following Denver Human Services locations:

  • Richard T. Castro Human Services Center (1200 N. Federal Blvd., Second Floor Entrance, Denver, CO 80204)
  • Welcome Center (2929 W. 10th Ave., Denver, CO 80204)
  • Denver Human Services East (3815 Steele St. Denver, CO 80205)
  • Arie P. Taylor Municipal Center (4685 Peoria St. Denver, CO 80239)

DHS also has neighborhood-based locations at the St. Francis Center (Downtown Denver) and Westwood Community Center (West Denver).
