The city is facing a $200 million budget shortfall. Our agency is independent and per Section 8.1.2 of Denver's City Charter, elections are held exclusively by the independent Clerk & Recorder. Mayor Johnston proposed $4.5 million less than the required budget in the 2026 year. We are working to ensure this move doesn't cut critical resources and disenfranchise Denver voters.
