“Anyone who had the pleasure of working with my predecessor Keith Erffmeyer knows that, both figuratively and literally, I have some big shoes to fill,” said Jonathan Norloff, incoming county assessor. “I’m honored and incredibly excited to step into this new role. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside this remarkable team for over a decade and couldn’t be more thankful for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Together, I’m confident we will continue to deliver our best to those we serve.”

Norloff has served as the City and County of Denver’s deputy assessor since 2024, having previously served in various property appraisal and supervisory roles within Denver’s Assessor’s Office since 2012. Jon brings a blend of private and public sector experience to the County Assessor role. He is incredibly experienced with the workings of the Assessor’s Office as well as county and state property assessment practices. In addition, prior to joining the city, Jon served as employing broker and manager for both residential and commercial properties. Throughout his time with the City and County of Denver, Jon has earned the trust of his peers and colleagues.

Norloff holds professional ad valorem appraiser licensures as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with concentrations in management and finance, from McPherson College.

“We are thrilled to promote Jonathan Norloff to the role of county assessor,” said Nicole Doheny, the city’s chief financial officer. “His expertise and experience make him an invaluable asset to our team, and through his time with the city, he has earned broad respect and support among our staff and partners.”

As county assessor, Norloff will be responsible for oversight of Denver's Assessor’s Office, which includes appraisals, locates, and records for Denver’s real and personal properties in accordance with the Colorado Constitution, state statutes, and Board of Equalization procedures. He will report to the city’s Chief Financial Officer within the Department of Finance.
