For Employers

Denver Workforce Development knows that building and running a business is more than a full-time job. Whether your firm is a start-up with just a few employees or a large corporate operation with thousands of professionals on your payroll, we can help with the critical business of finding, placing, training, and retaining your most valuable asset -- your people.

You can count on our team’s breadth of expertise in industry knowledge, recruitment, retention, training, and upskilling. And as always, our services and programs are offered free of charge.

Our Services

There are many ways we can support your business as you search for the right kind of talent. We organize our services under three big categories, but we do not work in a "one size fits all" model. You will always have the opportunity to work with us and adjust our services to your specific needs. Our services include:

Recruitment

Through our three Denver Workforce Centers, we recruit applicants for every position through a variety of recruitment options, from company-specific recruiting events to general hiring fairs, in-person or virtually.

Company-specific recruitment: We can customize an event for a single employer to quickly bring results. Individual events can also be designed for a small group of employers around a particular project, industry, or region.

How does individual recruitment work?

  • We assemble a recruitment team to conduct an extensive skills match within our database of jobseekers.
  • We pre-screen interested candidates for qualifications and eligibility prior to being referred to you.
  • You select your preferred method of contact from interested candidates (phone, fax, email, walk-in).

General Recruitment: We frequently produce job fairs for multiple employers, some more general in nature and others strategically developed for targeted industries involving a targeted applicant pool.

Job Postings

We partner with Connecting Colorado, a state- and county-run job board system, that allows companies to quickly promote their opportunities to the public.

By utilizing Connecting Colorado:

  • Your positions are posted statewide within 24 hours.
  • You select your preferred method of contact from interested candidates (phone, fax, email, walk-in).
  • This option is perfect for entry-level, trade, and mid-level management positions or for companies with many vacancies.

Screening

If you're looking for something more than a "come one, come all" recruitment solution, we pre-screen and assess candidates for qualifications, skills, and eligibility.

  • Especially suited to businesses who want to take the time to find the right candidate for their middle-skills position and/or are facing hard-to-fill vacancies.
  • You may also refer a job candidate or existing employee to complete one or more assessment tools at no cost. The results are shared confidentially with you for determination of employment, promotion, or reassignment.

Advantages of this service:

  • Save valuable time: Tests are easy to use and administer.
  • Full range of quality assessments: Hundreds of tests for clerical, software, industrial, healthcare, financial and technical job classifications.
  • Most advanced testing engine: Randomization of questions, test and group customization capabilities, and enhanced reporting capability.
  • Instant test results: Available via email and/or web platform upon completion of each test.
  • Measure candidate skills with certainty: we have a thorough validation process that adheres to EEOC guidelines.
  • Identify highly-qualified candidates quickly and easily: Detailed test results and reports are easily interpreted.
  • Recognize training needs: Develop a training curriculum by utilizing detailed test results.
  • Gain the competitive advantage: Improve your screening process by leveraging cutting-edge technology to achieve superior results.

Programs

Your talent needs are unique to your company, sector, and growth stage. We offer programs that support and encourage your hiring goals. Not seeing exactly what you are looking for? Reach out to us and we will work with you to identify the program that supports your needs.

Veterans

Interested in developing or enhancing a veteran’s hiring initiative for your company? Start by reading this information from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employer Guide to Hiring Veterans is the premier resource to assist and educate employers who have made the proactive decision to include transitioning service members, veterans and wounded warriors in their recruitment and hiring initiatives. As always, we will work with you in your efforts to successfully welcome talented and skilled Veterans into your company.

Youth

Through our Certified Youth Employment program, Denver employers can pay certain youth workers less than Denver's established minimum wage for a limited time. The program requires that in exchange for this exemption, the employer provide career-building experience, training, or an industry-recognized credential.

Job Creation & Subsidies

Qualified businesses can access wage subsidies in exchange for providing new employees with training and needed experience. Our program offers up to 50% reimbursement of wages to businesses -- up to $6,000 - that hire qualified individuals to train in new career opportunities.

If you are interested and qualify for this program, you would get:

  • Pre-screened candidates that closely meet the requirements of your available position
  • Reimbursement of up to 50% of a new hire’s wages up to $6,000
  • The final hiring decision on every pre-screened applicant
  • Our ongoing support and assistance during the entire placement period
