Food Matters Denver

DDPHE is partnering with Ohio State University (OSU) on a Food Waste Prevention campaign aimed at helping Denverites save money by reducing the amount of edible food they discard. If you received OSU’s survey in the mail, we thank you in advance for taking it and for helping Denver #SaveTheFood

The Food Matters program promotes strategies that can have a significant impact on reducing the amount of food being wasted in the City and County of Denver. As part of this project, Department of Public Health & Environment (DDPHE) provides food waste-reduction tips and resources to residents and businesses to help everyone waste less food, donate more food, and expand composting efforts.

Food Matters encompasses a variety of programs and initiatives that strive to advance food systems. Reducing wasted food is one of Denver’s priorities in the Denver Food Vision, a document produced with extensive community input that sets a goal for the City to reduce wasted food by 57% by 2030.
